Garden Project I

My weekend project awaits! The pictures show my backyard jungle, I mean garden! It has gotten a bit out of control so I am purging plants! (If you are in the Midwest- drop me an email and I would be happy to share!) This summer has been so kind to my area for growing things that my perennials have taken over. I cannot give you any closeups, because then you would see all the weeds! Maybe in the fall we will revisit the "new" garden. I adore getting my hands dirty, and cannot wait to start digging in.

Just a side note- the darling building built by my husband and many faithful helpers is my Little One's playhouse! So cute- and the site of many fun tea parties and now sleepovers! Some day, I hope to use it as a studio-but that can wait until its play days are over. That will come to quickly I am sure! I will take you on a tour when its ready for pictures!

Happy Weekend!

Laundry Room Inspiration

Since the craft room was put on hold, I have been looking into other rooms in the house. The most important to me is the laundry/mudroom. I have found inspiration courtesy of Country Living magazine. This easy, breezy entry is exactly what is called for in the vacation home. Plenty of storage for cute beach bags, umbrellas, backpacks, etc. I think by keeping it open, my family will keep it neat- at least, I have my fingers crossed on that one! Instead of the blue walls, I would do a fresh green, like Gleeful or Springtime from Sherwin Williams. My husband has banished green from our second home, so I have to sneak it in somewhere!

Here's to easy living in a refreshing summer style!

Just some thoughts...

After a long, lazy vacation, soaking up the sand and surf- reality has come home! Many new things will be popping up (Yes, my craft room is on hold, but I have great ideas for other rooms, courtesy of soaking up magazines while sitting on the beach). I am looking forward to sharing ideas with you, and have some things already in the works.

Just a thought for all of you gardener’s- after a two-week hiatus, my garden has exploded! It’s more like a jungle! We pruned this morning for over 2 hours- I know, who prunes in July?! I hope everyone else is enjoying their gardens as much as I do mine. Happy Weeding, and don’t forget to cut some of those fresh flowers and enjoy them inside!

Original Art I

While the craft room is being used, instead of designed, my creative family has been hard at work! Grandma is the artist, and my Little One is an aspiring artist so I thought I would share a project. I also paint- the laundry room is now a shiny bright white called Sea Salt from Behr!

Mexican Plates that I purchased in Mexico.

Pineapple painted by my Little One(10 years old- amazing!)

Craft Room- First Edition

Here is my very exciting, unfinished 9x10 craft room/guest bedroom! Since we are on vacation, my Little One has decided it is much more fun to make crafts than to organize a room so this project will need that year to do! I am putting my thinking cap on, and really want to make this room functional and full of storage space! Check back for updates... or maybe just pictures of the gorgeous beaches that we have been lounging on!
